For club insurance purposes, it is required that each trainer complete and pass a background check. It's a two-step process that requires the trainer to take a "sports doc" class.

1.) Please start by going to http://www.sidelinesportsdoc.com/usclubsoccer. The course costs $5. The club will reimburse you for this course plus the $18 for background check. The course offers video tutorials. Even if you fail to get 100% the first time through the test, you'll have a better understanding of the material…making it more likely that you will achieve a perfect score your second time through!

After completing the sports doc, you'll be given a cert number that is necessary to do the background check. The following message appears after passing the sports doc:

Congrats on completing "The Coach's Guide to Youth Soccer Injury" online course with Sideline Sports Doc and US Club Soccer as part of its Players First platform.

Your certificate number is 2016071…

2.) The next step in registering with US Club Soccer is to complete your background screening application: http://usclubsoccer.org/registration/background-screening. You will need to enter the certificate number listed above into your background screening application in order to proceed.

For more information on US Club Soccer's staff registration process, please visit US Club Soccer's Staff Registration Web page http://usclubsoccer.org/members-area/registration/staff or contact your respective US Club Soccer regional administrator http://usclubsoccer.org/about/staffcontact-us

Yours sincerely,
The Sideline Sports Doc and US Club Soccer Team
